What is NGO?

We are a team of Born Again believers from all over Sonoma County who believe that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life and that no one can come to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6) Our heart is to be obedient to God in His Great Commission to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15) We see the world as a sea of people who are in need of salvation through repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ. Our mission is to bring the glorious Gospel to lost souls here in Sonoma County and beyond. We also have a desire to train and equip those who do not know how to share the Gospel and have trainings available.

What can I say, except God is good! He’s mighty, powerful and there is NO greater joy than when he works in you and through you.

Yesterday I was talking with a lady who was an AT&T Representative. We were on the phone for over 30 minutes and as we were finishing up she was saying how nothing in this life is free. At this point I had been listening to her try to promote a new program AT&T had for quite some time now and then The Lord gave me words to say something to her. So I went on to say, “Can I tell you about something that is free?” She said go right ahead. Then I said, “It’s about the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

She said go ahead and said something to the effect that she knew him and she was all ears. So I asked her, “Do you know that if you were to die that you would go to heaven?” She then replied, “Nobody knows that for sure.” To that I said, “Oh, but we can know!” I then shared some verses with her. John 3:16 says “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life”. I said, “This is a promise and God does not lie.” Also Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” She said,”Amen, hallelujah.” I told her that if I were to die, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I would go to heaven, not based on ANYTHING I’ve done but based solely on what Jesus Christ did for me. On that cross, he took ALL my sins and paid for them.

She was a very passionate woman and kept saying, “Amen, hallelujah!” I said, “Though I was unrighteousness, Jesus made me righteous. He gave me right standing and brought me forgiveness for all my sins.” I’m not sure at what point she started to cry. But she said passionately, ” I receive your message. No one has shared it quite like this before.” I told her,” You can have assurance.” She just kept crying at this point and kept saying I receive your message. Thank you so much for sharing with me. I had explained to her also about how we need to be born again and how the Holy Spirit comes to live inside and is our inheritance guaranteeing our salvation. She continued cryingand saying he’s my comforter, my God, etc.

Then I asked if I could pray for her and she said yes. I asked her what she would like me to pray for her about? She said she’d like me to pray for her from the top of her head to the bottom of her toes. So I prayed for her and she was so thankful! She also said she’s not ashamed to tell anyone about her Lord. To that I said, “The fear of The Lord is the beginning of all wisdom” and how I needed more of that healthy fear in me. Then shortly after that we said our goodbyes.

It was interesting to me that she did not have assurance of her salvation. What a scary thought! We can not just assume that someone is saved because they say they believe in God, that they have assurance of their salvation or that they’re born again.

Lord lead us to share this Good News consistently and efficiently! Please use our mouths and give us words to say. Please work in us and through us. Apart from you we can do NOTHING worthy of your call or that will last throughout eternity. Give us your ears so we can hear you, your eyes so we can see others the way you do, and your heart for all the lost souls in this world because NOTHING is more important than a persons eternal salvation!!!

Praying for boldness and God’s leading…

September 2, 2013

I called my dear sister in Christ, and partner with me on the streets, just to check in with her. She was telling me how she hadn’t been too bold lately in her day to day witness. She hadn’t been going out of her way to share Jesus except at our planned outreaches. She was […]

Answering Objections to the Bible by Jake

August 22, 2013

“I don’t believe the Bible because it was written by men, has been translated so many times and is full of inconsistencies?” Human Authorship? First, I would ask the person to clarify their rational for rejecting books written by men. Do they reject all books written by men or just ones that claim to have an absolute […]

Why Does God Command Worship?

June 29, 2013

Why Does God Command Worship? By Jake Loofbourrow God is the perfect and holy, all-powerful, all-knowing, infinite, self-existent source of all that exists outside of himself, we are indebted to him for our continued existence and he is, therefore, uniquely qualified and justified to make demands upon his creation. For Jealousy. The Lord commands our worship because He […]

Letter to an Evangelist

May 25, 2013

The following letter was written to Evangelist Ray Comfort: “You are really convinced that you’ve got all the answers. You’ve really got yourself tricked into believing that you’re 100% right. Well, let me tell you just one thing. Do you consider yourself to be compassionate of other humans? If you’re right, as you say you […]

Train Up Your Children by Laura Hadley

The other day my two children and I went to the park.  I slipped a few million dollar gospel tracts in my back pocket in case I got the chance to share Jesus.  Well, it wasn’t me who shared that day.  It was my 3 and 5 year old children! In Awana’s, a bible club […]

Jesus, Open Their Eyes

I was about to leave the park and get my son to bed when this little girl about 3 years old started talking to me.  “Why are you here?” she asked.  “I’m here with my son,” I replied pointing to my little guy who was going down the slide.  “So you’re his mommy?  My mommy […]
